Everyone knows a crafter. Whether it's a family member who sews, quilts, or crochets, a friend who paints on canvas or rocks, or even a toddler gleefully scattering markers, crafters are everywhere. However, with every type of crafting comes unique tools and supplies that must be stored. What better way to store your tools than to use Pegboards!
We’ll highlight for you today some of the more unique and innovative ways to use pegboard accessories to store your crafting tools and supplies that might not have a place in your home yet. Remember, pegboards utilize that useful wall space by providing homes for your most used tools, and having those tools and items readily accessible is important for smooth crafting!
Pegboard Washi Tape Holders
Are you a Washi tape collector and have lots of rolls hidden away in tubs and bins with no way to display them? Maybe it’s time for those rolls of tape to make their way out of the dark and stored on the wall instead for both easy access and aesthetics. Before choosing a storage method, ask yourself:
Will you bring each roll to your craft and cut as needed? OR will you leave the roll in its home and snip off lengths?

Craft Tape On the Move
If you are a project by project Washi tape user, then perhaps these display hooks are more your style. These allow you to compare the color tones against the other elements of your design and compare several rolls at once. Additionally, you can lay out the Washi tape to the exact amount you need. However, this flexibility means that to store your washi tape on a pegboard, you may need to use more real estate, since each tape will require a separate hook.

Craft Tape in Your Space
However, what if you just want to display all of your Washi tape rolls? No worries, JustHanging has you covered. Try the Washi Tape display rod! This rod lets you store several rolls at once and cut lengths as needed. providing compact storage. Just slide your tapes on and off with ease to get to the one you need with the only limitation of needing to unslide all of your tapes to remove the one in the middle.
If you happen to be a bit more haphazard or devil-may-care about your lengths of tape, just pull and snip right off the rod!
Washi tape storage on a pegboard can make crafting much easier. Besides, going from a drawer or a tub, or bins and bins full of tape to a visually organized pegboard can be immensely satisfying.
Pegboard Ruler Storage
If you have a ruler, you know how easily they can vanish beneath piles of crafting paper, sketchbooks, behind a piece of wood, or, well, anything and anywhere, really. Storing rulers on your pegboard can be a great way to keep them organized and in sight, especially if you have several that just seem to vanish when you need them most. Storing rulers, scales and straightedges on your pegboard keeps them out of the way but in reach. Try our ruler storage holder. With this, you can cascade each of the rulers and are able to remove a single ruler without disturbing the rest.
Pegboard Scissor Holder
Scissors: the crafter’s constant companion. Fabric scissors, decorative edge scissors, or your general, all-purpose scissors, so many to have wandering around. If you are a crafter who uses scissors, your pegboard scissor storage solution should work as hard as you do. Storing scissors on a pegboard allows you to visually see your scissors so they don’t have an excuse to be under another pile of fabric and keep them within easy reach during your project! Just in case you are one of those crafters that has a lot of scissors, with the special scissor pegboard holders below, you are able to hold multiple in one holder!
We particularly like to use our cascade scissor holder. It has spots for four scissors at an angle, with the back one higher in elevation than the ones in front of them. You are able to easily identify which scissor is stored behind the others. Our other fan favorite is the horizontal scissor holder. Also equipped with 4 spots, this pegboard scissor holder has each scissor in a row horizontal to the pegboard to allow the crafter to see each one without blockage.
Vinyl Storage Hooks
Vinyl rolls are used in many different crafting areas: Label making, heat-transfer projects, or decals for your favorite water bottle. Keeping these rolls tidy, however, can be a challenge. We’ve stored rolls in baskets, drawers, even small trash cans, so we understand the struggle! Utilizing your vertical pegboard space is a great way to keep those vinyl rolls visible. You can easily group your rolls by finish or color, and if you ever add rolls to your collection — which we all do — rearrangement is as easy as relocating your hooks to a different peg!
Pegboard Paper Towel Holder
Crafters never make messes! We are the tidiest of all the hobbyists. We have never spilled a cup of coffee on the workstation, gotten glue on the table, spilled watercolor paints, had glitter explosions, or snack time crumbs!
So, we actually have done all of those and more. Could you hear the sarcasm in our text? Keeping a roll of paper towels handy has never been more important than when embarking on your next craft, especially if you like having something to drink or eat while you work. Always having the paper towels accessible and ready to go whenever a spill may strike is crucial! However, keeping paper towels on the desk makes them susceptible to the same spill that is spreading all over your craft, but keeping them on pegboards solves that issue. We use our paper towel storage daily in both our business operations and crafty endeavors!
We crafters have a lot of tools and supplies and we can struggle with organization.
